God rest his soul, and let his Dream live on.

1. We have got to Love! I'm not talking about a sentimental, shallow kind of love... not a felea which is a sort of intimate affection between personal friends... I'm talking about the Love of God in the hearts of man.

2. A man may be self-centered.  His generosity may feed his ego, and his piety may feed his pride.  So without Love, benevolence becomes egotism, and martyrdom becomes spiritual pride.

3. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

4. Mankind will never be bound. Let freedom ring.

5. The movement must address itself to the question of restructuring the whole of American society.

6. Every man of human convictions must decide on the protest that best suits his conviction, but we must all protest.

7. Power is the ability to say yes when you want to say no.

8. We are at the moment when our lives must be placed on the line if the nation is to survive its own following.

9. Nobody will shout white power; nobody will shout black power; but everybody will shout God's power.

10. War is a symptom of a far deeper malady within the human spirit.

11. Life and history give elegant testimony to the fact that conflicts are never resolved without trustful give and take on both sides.

12. We must be prepared to match actions with word by seeking out every creative method of protest possible.

13. We are called to speak for the weak; silence is betrayal.

14. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

15. But if he puts you in jail, you'll go in that jail and transform it from a dungeon of shame to a heaven of freedom and unity.

16. An embracing worldwide fellowship that lifts neighborly concern beyond ... is in reality a call to an all-embracing, unconditional Love for all mankind.

17. I still believe that mankind will bow before the alters of God.

18. Nonviolent redemptive goodwill will claim the law of the land.

19. The lion and the lamb shall lie down together.

20. Every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree.

21. None shall be afraid.

22. I still believe, that we shall overcome.

23. To recapture the revolutionary spirit.

24. Going out into the hostile world, claiming an inner hostility.

25. Challenge the status quo and unjust morays.

26. Know your enemy.

27. Let us be dissatisfied.

28. Non-violence is the only way.

29. There is nothing wrong with power, if powers are used correctly.

30. We will be marching without end, until there is a significant and profound change in American life and policy.

31. ...Until America will no longer have a high blood pressure of creeds and an anemia of deeds.

32. Let us be dissatisfied until the tragic walls that separate the outer city of wealth and of comfort from the inner city of poverty and despair [are removed].

33. We have a finer land, a better people, a more noble civilization because these children of God were willing to suffer for righteousness' sake.

34. To all those whom Truth is beauty, beauty is Truth.

35. There is no moral justice without economic justice.

36. If you respect my dollar, you must respect my person.

37. Communism forgets that life is individual; capitalism forgets that life is social. The kingdom of brotherhood is found neither in thesis of communism, nor the antithesis of capitalism, but in a higher synthesis.

38. Love is the ultimate force that makes for the saving choice of life and good, against the damning choice of death and evil.

39. Non-violence calls upon us to avoid internal violence of spirit, to engage in that something called Love.
