Utopian Housing
(Continued... )
As described in our 501(c)3 organizing document,
The purpose of this Program is to free the homeless, the underprivileged and the distressed. The charitable purposes of this Program are to bring about the well-being and liberation of many hundreds of homeless individuals and other poor and distressed individuals. This will be done through housing programs that include an array of health, education, social and economic programs, services and opportunities. This will give the homeless and other souls a place and a lifestyle to regain peace, dignity, and clarity in order that they may move forward into society and beyond their current point of lack and dismay.
Program Overview Our Utopian Housing Program is designed to free the homeless from homelessness: not by sheltering but by housing. Nor by letting them live alone to make due on their own, but by letting them live in a highly supportive community housing environment. In this Program we (the Organization) will provide housing at the lowest rates (by virtue of sharing the rent among many) in order to enable homeless persons to most easily get off the streets and make their way in the world. As part of the Program, residents will be given supportive housing, including food, health care, clothing, hygiene, regular counseling, transportation, child-care services, and constant job-placement services (with Internet/phone/mail/ID resources provided, and help generating resumes, interview preparation, and assisted dialogue with employers). Also they will be given opportunities to work within the Organization, as resident volunteers or in other economic opportunities provided by the Organization.
Not only to provide the basic needs, we seek also to help the homeless and others help themselves in the best way. We want them to grow mentally and spiritually in Love, in understanding of Truth, and attain the Freedom of being liberated from all forms of maladies of flesh (abuse of drugs, alcohol, sex), of mind (all forms of negative thought) and of spirit (unjust behavior, depression, isolation, etc.). To bring this about, we will first wash their feet upon entering the door, and we will continually provide: counseling services, group-share events and support teams including regular AA, NA-type meetings; a code of ethics; a lifestyle regiment and a program for the completion of responsibilities; a broad education program with mentorship; and a host of positive social activities - out in the community and in the communities of brotherhood which we establish in the name of Love.
We are looking for support to help bring this opportunity to thousands in need.
Organizations can help in Atlanta, GA and elsewhere through a Nonprofit cooperative.
